In this video Rage Against the Machine takes a political contexts. The name of the video says it all "Killing in the name of" by this they mean the government killing in the name of what they feel is nothing. The band is trying to send out an anti-war message they feel that the government is wrongfully sending people of to get killed and justifying by saying there is reason behind them dieing. The lyrics "Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites" there is sarcasm in this whole song this being an example. They use this sarcasim to spread there point.
Rage Against the Machine feels that we are controled by the government and we will do any thing they say "And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control". There main perpose and the context of this song was for them to reach out to the people and say break free from the goverments shackels. You can hear their anger through out the song as they screaming and crascendo to highlight their sarcasm.
In the song there is much repeating of lyrics that is because they have one main purpose in this song. They want to underline there point and they do this with the repeditivness. "Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses" this lyric is another example of anti-war they are saying the people that control you are they same people killing you. That the enemy is not over seas, they are right in your back yard.
